Senior officials at the state-owned Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation and the Independent Television Network (ITN) have been summoned before the Elections Commission.
Informed sources said they had been asked to appear before the commission due to allegations that their election coverage was highly biased.
The Elections Commission earlier made a decision to ban ITN from airing political programme. The decision was later reversed after multiple appeals by many parties.
However, the Elections Commission has also come under fire for failing to take any meaningful action against private TV channels that violate guidelines set by the Elections Commission.
