The SLFP said it would take stern action against anyone attending the purported convention organized by the 'Movement to Protect SLFP' tomorrow.
The convention is set to take place at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium tomorrow under the patronage of former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga.
Speaking at an event, UPFA General Secretary Mahinda Amaraweera said disciplinary action would be immediately taken against any member attending the event.
"Those who talk about protecting the SLFP have not been in the party for more than 10 years. We are the ones responsible for protecting the SLFP and we will do our job properly," Amaraweera said.
He also added that several UNP organizers had been informed to bring crowds into the convention taking place at the Sugathadasa stadium.
