The Elections Commission has ordered the state-run ITN to refrain from telecasting political shows until further notice, Asian Mirror learns.

The ITN has been barred from running political programme following a complaint received by the commission that the TV station ran a programme unfavourable to SLPP candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

Meanwhile, another complaint has been lodged with the commission against the ITN's decision to telecast the Bollywood movie "Pad Man" tonight at 10.30 PM.

The title 'Pad Man' became a hot topic in Sri Lanka's presidential election after NDF candidate Sajith Premadasa pledged to provide women with sanitary products free of charge.
