GMOA President Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya today made another controversial move by attending NDF candidate Sajith Premadasa's manifesto launch in Kandy.
Padeniya came under fore over his presence at the manifesto launch of SLPP candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa in Colombo last week.
Speculation is rife whether Padeniya was attempting to demonstrate his "impartiality" by attending Premadasa's event this morning.
PAFFREL lodged a complaint with the Elections Commission claiming that Dr. Padeniya, a Medical Officer attached to the Ministry of Health, had violated elections regulations by attending Rajapaksa's event.
However, when contacted by us, a GMOA spokesman said their representatives could attend such events and they were merely exercising their rights as trade union members.
