GMOA President Anuruddha Padeniya is now in hot water as the Elections Commission has requested the Secretary to the Ministry of Health to conduct an investigation into the incident where Padeniya was seen at the manifesto launch of SLPP candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
Multiple parties, including election monitors, lodged complaints with the Elections Commission to conduct a fair investigation into the incident.
As a medical doctor attached to the Ministry of Health, Padeniya is not allowed to engage in any political activities other than casting his vote.
PAFFREL, lodging a complaint with the Elections Commission, said Padeniya's presence at the SLPP manifesto launch might set a bad example to other government servants.
