Police arrested 26 university students who conducted a protest march in Colombo.

They were arrested for violating elections regulations.

Police also used teargas and water cannon to disperse the students who took to streets only three weeks away from a crucial presidential election.

As a result of their protest, a severe traffic jam was reported in the Colombo Fort area.
