SLPP Presidential candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa's spokesman Dullas Alahapperuma said the alleged poster featuring the photographs of Rajapaksa and former Eastern Province Governor M.L.A.M. Hizbullah was not circulated by his campaign.

Issuing a statement, Alahapperuma said the political opponents of Rajapaksa had stooped to the level of generating fake posters in the face of their imminent defeat at the upcoming Presidential election.

Hizbullah, who was forced to resign from his position following the Easter Sunday attacks, is a candidate at the Presidential election.

Rajapaksa's political opponents stated that Hizbullah was running for the election in support of Rajapaksa, who has so far failed to draw adequate support from the Muslim community.
