Minister Ajith P. Perera has lodged a complaint with the Elections Commission over the use of Army Commander's photograph for a campaign adversement promoting SLPP candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

In his complaint, Perera said the photographs of former Army Commanders, clad in military attire, had also been used in the same advertisement.

The UNP MP said it was a grave violation of the Elections Regulations. He added that the current Army Commander has been "severely inconvenienced" by this development.
