The Court of Appeal will give reasons for rejecting the Writ challenging the validity of SLPP Presidential candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa on Tuesday.

The ruling was given last week allowing Rajapaksa to hand over nomination papers to run for the election on Mondy.

The reasons for the rejection will be made public 11 days after announcing the ruling.

A three-judge bench, headed by Court of Appeal Chairman Yasatha Kodagoda, delivered the ruling on the petition filed by two civil society activists, Gamini Viyangoda and Chandraguptha Thenuwara.
