Former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa today visited the house of SLFP National Organizer Duminda Dissanayake in Anuradhapura.

The meeting came ahead of the inaugural rally of the SPP at Salgado Stadium in Anuradhapura this afternoon.

Dissanayake was one of the Cabinet ministers to defect from the Rajapaksa government in 2014 along with President Maithripala Sirisena.

Meanwhile, former Minister and Eastern Provincial Governor Rohitha Bogollagama today extended support to UNP candidate Sajith Premadasa.

Bogollagama was the Foreign Minister in the Rajapaksa governmet and he failed to secure a seat at the Parliamentary election in 2010.
