The Sri Lanka Freedom Party has further delayed announcing its decision the Presidential election.
UPFA General Secretary Mahinda Amaraweera told reporters today that the final decision would be announced tonight or tomorrow.
However, multiple party sources told Asian Mirror that internal divisions were still rife in the party over its final decision.
They added President Maithripala Sirisena was vehemently opposed to supporting the current symbol of the Sri Lanka Podujana Party (SLPP).
A discussion between President Sirisena and party MPs is due this evening.
