The Sri Lanka Freedom Party Central Committee meeting ended inconclusively last night, informed party sources said.
The Central Committee met last night, under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena, to discuss the party's course of action for the upcoming Presidential election.
Speaking to Asian Mirror, a senior SLFP CC member said the party decided to observe the situation closely until the end of the ongoing court case against SLPP candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
He added that the SLFP would make a decision on fielding its own candidate depending on the outcome of the court case against Rajapaksa.
The discussions between the SLPP and the SLFP have come to an end due to disagreements over the symbol of the proposed alliance.
