The Court of Appeal has ordered several senior government officials to provide details relating to the passport obtained by SLPP Presidential candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaka.
The court has ordered the Home Affairs Minister, Secretary to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Controller of Immigration and Emigration and the Commissioner General of the Registration of Persons to provide details of Rajapaksa's passport.
The Court of Appeal will start hearing the case on October 02. The petition was filed by two civil society activists, Gamini Viyangoda and Chandraguptha Thenuwara challenging the lagality of Rajapaksa's Sri Lankan passport.
