Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa's second son, Yoshitha Rajapaksa has been reinstated to the Sri Lanka Navy, with effect from February 28, 2016.

Rajapaksa was suspended from service in the wake of the investigation into CSN network linked with the Rajapaksa family. The investigation, however, failed to prove any link between Rajapaksa and the now-defunct sports channel.

The reinstatement has been approved by President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as the Minister of Defence, and by the Commander of Navy.
