Members of the Parliamentary Select Committee probing Easter Sunday Attacks are currently at the Presidential Secretariat obtaining a statement from President Maithripala Sirisena over security lapses leading to the explosions.
Sirisena has been requested to make a statement before the PSC as he is the Cabinet Minister of Defence and the Commander in Chief of all defence forces.
However, speaking at a meeting with newspaper editors and media heads two months ago, President Sirisena said he would not appear before the PSC as its proceedings were a "drama" scripted by Temple Trees.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and former Law and Order Ministers Sagala Ratnayaka and Ranjith Madduma Bandara have already appeared before the PSC.
