Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will meet leaders of the Tamil National Alliance today, informed political sources said.
The discussion will centre around the upcoming Presidential election and the TNA's position. The largest political party in the North has already made it clear that its opinion will not be swayed by "blind promises".
The TNA held a meeting with UNP Presidential aspirant Sajith Premadasa over the weekend. The meeting, however, did not produce a significant outcome.
The Tamil party has indicated that they are more likely to throw their weight behind Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe or Speaker Karu Jayasuriya if the UNP opts to field either of them as its Presidential candidate.
