UNP Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa is expected to meet leaders of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) today in a bid to secure his support for his presidential bid.

However, the TNA has made it clear that they are more inclined to support Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe or Speaker Karu Jayasuriya should the party decide to field one of them as the Presidential candidate.

Premadasa's vague policy on the devolution of power has made the TNA vary of the UNP's Deputy Leader's campaign.

However, without the TNA's support, Premadasa will not be able to convince the party seniors of his ability to win the Presidential election.
