JVP Parliamentarian Bimal Ratnayake said today was a "black day" in Sri Lanka's parliamentary history.
"MPs have raised 15 questions(mentioned in the order paper) from the Government and there were no single minister to answer any of these questions," Ratnayake said.
He added the behavior of government MPs showed complete negligence of governance and parliamentary democracy.
It was evident that the large majority of ruling party MPs were absent in Parliament today due to various reasons. Some of them were involved in organsing a rally in Kurunegala to support UNP Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa's presidential bid.
