Sri Lankan cricketer Ajantha Mendis has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.
A mystery spinner, he last played for Sri Lanka in 2015. The 34-year-old cricketer was left out of the Sri Lankan squad due to his mediocre performance towards the latter stage of his international career.
Mendis also failed to impress Sri Lankan selectors in domestic matches.
He is an officer attached to the Sri Lanka Army. He also represented the Army Cricket team in many first-class tournaments.
He ends with 70 Test, 152 ODI and 66 T20I wickets. Mendis is reputed for his carrom ball which earned him several notable performances at the international level.
