The United National Party has decided to institute disciplinary action against Ministers Ajith P. Perera and Sujeewa Senasinghe over their critical remarks on the party leadership and the party's presidential candidacy.
Both Perera and Senasinghe are strong supporters of UNP Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa's bid to become the party's presidential candidate.
They were also instrumental in organizing two rallies in Badulla and Matara to promote Premadasa's presidential bid.
A senior UNP spokesman said the party had made a strong decision to pursue action against any member acting in violation of party discipline.
