Secretary of Defence General (Rtd) Shantha Kottegoda confirmed that the State of Emergency will not be extended.
The State of Energency was imposted after six explosions across the country claimed over 250 lives on April 21 this year.
Imposing the Emergency Regulatuons, President Maithripala Sirisena said the move was aimed at facilitating defence operations against terror suspects.
The lifting of Emergency Regulations come as the country prepares for a crucial Presidential election in late November.
However, former Army Commander and UNP MP Sarath Fonseka has publicly claimed that over 60 terrorists who have received weapon training are still at large.
