Five judge bench led by Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya commenced the examination of President Maithripala Sirisena's application to seek a determination on holding the Provincial Council elections without the Delimitation Report. The ruling of this case will determine whether the Provincial Council elections can be held before the Presidential election slated before December 08, this year. Political sources said the ruling will be delivered before September 01.
