Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has summoned a group of UNF MPs for a meeting at Temple Trees.

Informed political sources said the meeting has been convened to discuss a settlement to the current issues relating to the formation of a common alliance.

However, it is reported that the UNP's Presidential candidate will not be announced soon.

Meanwhile, Minister Navin Dissanayake addressing a meeting said the UNP had three prominent slots namely the Presidential candidacy, the Prime Ministerial candidacy and the party leadership.

His statement was an indication that they would attempt to reduce Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe's role to the party leadership.
