CID Director SSP Shani Abeysekera lodged a complaint with the Fort Police Station against Lawyer Ravindra Manoj Gamage over a threatening remark.

Gamage, a lawyer affiliated with the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, indicated while addressing a press conference in Colombo that Dr. Shafi Shyabdeen had managed to influence the CID investigation through his financial power.

Gamage also threatened SSP Abeysekera that "political power" would not remain in the same place forever, indicating that the investigating officers would have to face repercussions in the face of a government change.

Abeysekera's compalint has been lodged with the Fort police station.
