There is no evidence to directly link the Islamic State (IS) to the Easter Sunday attacks, CID Director Ravi Seneviratne has told the Parliamentary Select Committee probing Easter Sunday attacks.
He also informed the PSC that the IS Leader has been contacted by a third party based in Indonesia, who requested the international terrorist outfit to claim responsibility.
However, the CID director told the committee that the group which carried out the Easter Sunday attack propagated the IS ideology.
