Former Sri Lankan fast bowler Nuwan Kulasekera has announced his retirement from international cricket with immediate effect.
The 37-year-old cricketer, who once topped ICC ranking for fast bowlers, has not played international cricket in a few years.
Sri Lanka's Chairman of Selectors Asantha de Mel recently sparked a controversy when he said at a press conference that he was not aware of the whereabouts of Nuwan Kulasekera.
Kulasekera's name surfaced again recently when Sri Lanka's fast bowler Lasith Malinga told media that he looked forward to play a farewell match in Sri Lanka with Nuwan Kulasekera.
However, SLC sources added that the last ODI match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka would be played as a tribute match to Kulasekera who was instrumental in Sri Lanka's victory at the ICC T20 World Cup.
