A Van driver has been assaulted by a group of "VIP bodyguards" who came in two Defenders.

The incident had taken place in Kalagedihena and the victim had been assaulted by the group for not making way for the two Defenders.

The Defenders bearing the numbers CAD 8850 and CAG 0550 are believed to be owned by a VIP, our sources said.

The van driver who came under assault has lodged a complaint with the Police Emergency Unit on the incident.

The Police, however, are yet to arrest the VIP bodyguards who carried out the assault.
