The Attoney General's Department has instructed Acting IGP Chandana Wickremaratne today to arrest former Additional Secretaries to the Ministry of Defence Saman Dissanayake and Damayanthi Jayaratne and produce them to the court before July 19.

The Attorney General issued this instruction when the Acting IGP sought the AG's opinion on arresting suspects in the Avant Garde case.

An anticipatory bail application filed by Saman Dissanayake over the Avant Garde case was dismissed today by the Colombo Fort Magistrate.

Court last week ordered to arrest five suspects relating to the Avant Garde case including the owner of the private security company former Army officer Nissanka Senadhipathy.

It has now been revealed that Senadhipathy is currently overseas absconding arrest.
