A restaurant in Munuwangoda, which came under attack amidst the recent racial violence in the Minuwangoda area, recommenced its business operations following a function attended by Buddhist monks and Muslim religious leaders.
The restaurant was damaged when anti-Muslim mobs pelted stones at the shop and damaged it with iron rods nearly two weeks after the Easter Sunday explosions.
However, nearly two weeks after the incident, the shop was reopened for business after a comprehensive renovation. The participation of Buddhist monks at the reopening event of the business establishment was widely commended by many.
