SLFP General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekera today testified before the Parliamentary Select Committee probing the Easter Sunday attacks.
Although Jayasekera was expected to appear before the PSC last week, he dodged the session citing "legal reasons".
When the matter was raised in the House yesterday, Speaker Karu Jayasuriya informed Jayasekera that if he failed to appear before the PSC, it would be held in contempt of Parliament.
Following the Speaker's Instructions, Jayasekera decided to appear before the PSC and respond to queries of its members.
Jayasekera was summoned by the PSC to record a statement on several controversial statements he made over the Easter Sunday attacks.
