Security has been beefed up at the Cardiology Unit of the National Haspital Colombo and the Police Hospital where former Defence Ministry Secretary Hemasiri Fernando and IGP Pujith Jayasundara are undergoing treatment.

No one, except for family members and lawyers, is allowed to meet the two former defence bigwigs who were arrested yesterday over the Easter Sunday attacks. Both of them were remanded till today.

Jayasundara is the first IGP to be arrested by the Police while in service.

The Attorney General has instructed the Police to name them as suspects in the case of Easter Sunday attacks.
