Those who join the Rajapaksa group cannot go beyond a ministerial post, UPFA Parliamentarian Kumara Welgama said.

"No one will be aboe to raise his head in the SLPP camp due to the Rajapaksa chain of command," the Parliamentarian said addressing a public meeting.

Speaking at a meeting, Welgama said he decided to continue in politics as a member of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP).

Welgama added that he never obtained membership with the Sri Lanka Podujana Party and always considered hiself an SLFPer.

Welgama was recently ousted as the SLPP Badulla district organizer due to his critical remarks on former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
