President Maithripala Sirisena said he would make a decision on running for re-election based on the decision the SLFP makes.
Sirisena made these remarks while addressing a meeting with media heads and newspaper editors at the President's House this morning.
Addressing the meeting, President Sirisena also indicated his disapproval of the US military presence on Sri Lankan soil, including SOFA. He also added that he intended to go ahead with death penalty, and day for execution already set.
The President said four people would be subjected to death penalty later this month . Sirisena also said there was political instability in the country, stressing the need for the abolition of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution.
He also added that the General Election will be held in two months after Presidential Election.
