The main suspect in the murder of two Police officers in Vavunathivu late last year was among the five suspects who were brought to Sri Lanka from Dubai this morning.

Five individuals including a individual named Mohommed Molhan who were arrested in Dubai over the Easter Sunday explosions in Colombo were brought to Sri Lanka today.

National Thowheed Jamaath Leader Zaharan Hashim's driver confessed to the Police that the two cops had been killed by the same group behind the April 21 suicide bombings. A revolver stolen from the murdered police officers had been used to open fire on former Minister's Kabir Hashim's Coordinating Secretary in Mawanella.

After this confession, a former LTTE militant who was previously remanded over the same incident was released by the Police. The killing of two Policemen is believed to be the first murder carried out by the Islamist militants in Sri Lanka
