President Maithripala Sirisena has not convened the regular Cabinet meeting today, informed political sources said.
They added that Sirisena had decided to not convene meeting due to the current standoff over the Parliamentary Select Committee probing Easter Sunday explosions.
Last week, Sirisena threatened that he would not convene the Cabinet meeting again unless the Parliamentary Select Committee probing Easter Sunday attacks are suspended.
The President also said he would not allow any serving officer in the defence apparatus to testify before the PSC.
The President's remarks came after revelations that were made before the PSC proved to be embarrassing for Sirisena who also functions as the Minister of Defence.
The legislature has so far ignored the President's concerns over the PSC.
