JHU Leader Patali Champa Ranawaka today visited Athuraliye Rathana Thera and showed solidarity with his cass.

Athuraliye Rathana Thera is currently on a hunger strike demanding the removal of Minister Rishad Bathiudeen, Western Province Governor Azath Salley and Eastern Province Governor M.L. A.M. Hizbullah.

Ranawaka said he met President Maithripala Sirisena before meeting Rathana Thera to discuss the latter's demands. The Minister said he received a favourable response from the President. Rathana Thera was also a member of the JHU before he became an independent MP in Parliament.
