President Maithripala Sirisena denied any prior knowledge of the Easter Sunday attacks which claimed over 250 lives.
In a Twitter post a short while ago, Sirisena denied claims that he was made aware by senior Police officers of possible terror attacks in Sri Lanka during a meeting on April 09.
The President also said he altered the structure of the National Security Council as some of the discussions that took place during its sessions were leaked to the press.
He added that the restructured National Security Committee met every fortnight to assess the current security situation of the country.
The President's clarification came in the wake of the commencement of the Parliamentary Select Committee probing the Easter Sunday explosions.
