Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has informed Parliament that No-Confidence Motion against Rishad Bathiudeen will be taken up in Parliament on June 18 and 19.
The Speakers decision upheld the ruling party's position that the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) probing Bathiudeen is given three weeks to investigate the allegations.
At the party leaders meeting this morning, the opposition maintained that the NCM against Bathiudeen should be taken up on June 06 and 07.
As a result of the deadlock, the party leaders meeting ended without a decision on the date of the No-Confidence Motion against Bathiudeen.
