In a strongly-worded statement Sri Lanka's cricket captain Angelo Mathews said he would not tolerate indiscipline among members of the national team.
His remarks came a day after the Sri Lanka Cricket imposed a ban on opening batsman Dhanushka Gunathilake for six matches for breaching the code of conduct stipulated in the contractual agreement between the SLC and national cricketers.
Gunathilake was recently under probe over a sexual harassment complaint lodged by a Norwegian woman.
"If they take that risk, they have to deal with the consequences," the Sri Lankan captain said addressing media before the start of the ODI series against South Africa.
"Stern action will be taken against players who violate discipline irrespective of how good they are," Mathews explained.
