President Anura Kumara Dissanayake extended his congratulations to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. 

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Dissanayake said, 

“Warm congratulations to President-elect @realDonaldTrump on receiving a strong endorsement as the 47th President of the United States of America. I look forward to engaging with your administration to realize common objectives in our relations that will benefit both the people of Sri Lanka and the United States.” 

Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe and former Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa also shared congratulatory messages for Trump.
