Teachers' Trade Unions Call Off Their Strike Following Discussions With President Sirisena

Teachers's trade unions have called off their strike scheduled for tomorrow following a discussion with President Maithripala Sirisena.

The discussion started at 11.30 am today at the Presidential Secretariat.

The unions were planning the strike in protest of some recent appointments in their service.

The appointments, according to the Education Ministry, were given to address political victimization.
