A person who claims to be a close associate of cricketer Dhanushka Gunathilake has been arrested by the Kollupitiya Police for raping a 26 year old Norwegian woman. 

The incident, according to the Police, had taken place in a tourist hotel in Colombo. 

It is learnt that the cricketer's name is also mentioned in the complaint as he too was at the scene. 

The Police will also record a statement from the cricket over the incident.

The complaint has reportedly been lodged with the Airport Police. 

SLC sources said the cricketer had been at the scene during the "team curfew" imposed by the cricket management of Sri Lanka. 

According to the team management, all players taking part in a cricket tournament are expected to report to their hotels at 10 pm during match days.

Following the incident, the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has suspended Gunathilake from playing all forms of international cricket until further notice.
