The Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) is to launch an island-wide strike on August 03 in protest of the Free Trade Agreement with Singapore. 

The GMOA argues that the agreement will allow citizens of Singapore to exploit the job market in Sri Lanka. 

The strike, the GMOA said, would demands solutions to eight other doctors.

The FTA signed with Singapore is the first bilateral Free Trade Agreement signed by Sri Lanka in 10 years.
