The Prime Minister's Office has informed IGP Pujith Jayasundara to ensure security of Human Rights Commission Chairperson Dr. Deepika Udugama.
Issuing a statement, the Prime Minister's Office said it was dismayed by reports on venomous attacks targeting the Chairperson of the Human Rights Commisssion.
The statement also added that the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka was an independent body appointed in line with the constitution.
The Prime Minister has aso directed the Police Chief to inquire into such statements.
