Former Sri Lankan batsman Thilan Samaraweera has been appointed the stand-in coach of the Sri Lankan cricket team for the tournament against South Africa.
He will stand-in for Head Coach Chandika Hathurusighe who is currently facing an ICC ban for two Test matches.
Samaraweera is the permanent batting consultant to the Sri Lankan cricket team.
Both Hathurusinghe and Samaraweera worked with the Bangladesh team before they took up the assignment in Sri Lanka.
