The Police yesterday arrested a Buddhist monk for strangling a Police officer to death. 

The officer who faced the incident, our sources said, died on the spot. 

The monk who lived in Ratnapura had been under Police investigation for sexually molesting a child. 

The monk was taken into Police custody immediately after the incident.
