President Maithripala Sirisena and Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera are expected to meet this evening to make a final decision on fuel price hike.
Although a final decision on the matter was expected to be made at the weekly Cabinet meeting today, it was postponed till evening.
The President last week reversed a decision by the Finance Minister to increase fuel prices.
The decision to increase fuel prices was made according to the price formula approved by the Cabinet.
However, President Sirisena, who chaired the Cabinet meeting which passed the price formula, said he was unaware of the fuel price hike last week.
