President Maithripala Sirisena has reportedly reversed the fuel price hike announced by Finance and Media Minister Mangala Samaraweera last night.
The President, according to sources close to him, has directed the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation to inform its fuel stations to sell fuel at old prices.
Accordingly, the CPC has sent a circular to CEYPETCO fuel stations reversing the price hike.
However, the Finance Ministry said this morning that it had not received any directive from the President to reverse the fuel price increase.
