State Minister Vijayakala Maheswaran is to face two inquiries over her controversial remark on reviving the LTTE to ensure the well-being of Tamils in the North.
When the matter was raised in Parliament today, Speaker Karu Jayasuriya said he would a disciplinary inquiry into the statement made by the State Minister.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe also said he would hold an inquiry into the matter.
Parliamentarians representing both the government and the opposition repeatedly pointed out that State Minister Maheswaran should resign from her government portfolio.
Following heated arguments over her statement, Parliament was adjourned till tomorrow by the Speaker.
