The Canteen Owners Association said the price of a packet of rice and a cup of tea would be reduced in line with the reduction in gas prices.

The Price of a domestic gas cylinder (12.5kg) was reduced by Rs.138 from last midnight.

The decision, observers said, would result in a decrease in the prices of some food items. 

The government, Asian Mirrors learns, also expects bakery owners to consider a price reduction.
